My Halloween Costume as Harley Quinn

I went to two Halloween parties this weekend. My boyfriend and I went as the joker and Harley Quinn (the jokers girlfriend).

This is what she looks like in the Batman show and comic book, she is such a bad ass:

This is my take:

For my face I used white cream makeup from the Halloween kits. This stuff takes a while to get really white, I used three layers of the white cream and waited for each layer to dry a bit before putting the next layer on. Once the last layer was put on, I had to let it dry a bit and then moved it around with fingers to make it look smooth on skin.

For the blush I used NYX red and applied it with a stipple brush

The lips are MAC Heartless with a F21 burgundy lip liner

You can't really see my eyes, but I just did a smokey eye look and applied some false eyelashes

The full costume:

I purchased the costume  at Halloweencostumes.com. The link will bring you right to the costume. The costume only came with the dress and hat. I purchased the stockings, red tulle and the accessories separately. Since Harley Quinn is a crazy psycho bad ass, I had on two different types of gloves, wore a spike bracelet from hot topic, a cross choker and only one earring.

This is a pic of all of us right before we left for the first Halloween party. I went with my boyfriend's mother (who went as the joker) and her friend. The party was at Versailles Spa in CT, they invited their customers to the party. I have never received any services there but my boyfriend's mother has been there and invited us to go with her. They had a Halloween costume contest there and I won 2nd place! I recieved 2 free TCA peels as my prize! I am so excited and I can not wait to go to my appointment. I will be sure to take pics of my progress.

This is me and my boyfriend at another Halloween party. The only difference in this version is that I added different color hair extensions in each pony tail.

BTW I put the make-up on my boyfriends face because he did not want to wear the mask all night...I have to say that I really enjoyed putting makeup on him!

I hope you liked my costume. What where you ladies for Halloween? LMK and if you have a blog post on it, leave a link in the comment section because I would love to see it or you can always let me know via Twitter @JessonBeauty or Instagram @Jess_No_Less

Some Instagram Shots!!

Hi Ladies,

Go figure, the moment I decide to start blogging again, I can't find the USB cord to my camera! AND I ran out of space in my PICASA web album?? Anyone know how to get around that so I do not have to pay per month??

Such is life I suppose, and I will be going to Best Buy to get another cord and I guess pay for an upgrade if I can't find a way to make more space so I can show you all my recent ULTA haul. In the mean time, I figured I could share some recent pics that I have posted on instagram, and let you in to my life outside of makeup.

I hope you enjoy the pics!

Me and my sister dressed up as cop and a prisoner for a Halloween Party last Saturday

I tried to bleach my hair!! What a disaster that was! If you would like I can write a post on what an EPIC FAIL that was!!!

I ADORE her!

Pumpkin Picking Pictures with my boyfriend and his family. They are not my kids lol...I don't have any

Lastly...I made Halloween "bloody hemorrahage" shots for a Halloween party this weekend. I made them with Green Apple Vodka, the "phlemy" stuff in the middle is Caramel Bailys, and the red "blood" is the Grenadine. These were fun to make!

If you have an instagram account, feel free to follow me @ Jess_No_Less and I will definatly follow you back!

I hope you enjoyed the pics and thanks for looking

This post is LONGGGG over due

Hello Ladies,
I have missed you all so much and I have missed blogging. I lost my "UMPH" so to say for putting makeup on over the past few months. There have been so many changes in my life and I have to admit it has been very hard to adjust to change after change. I am not person who adapts to change easily, since my entire life has been mostly consistant up until now. All this change in my life has upset me, depressed me and challenged me in ways I never imagined which led me to do nothing but focus on that pain and change HOWEVER because of this change I have grown and learned things in my life I never thought I would. I have also grown closer to some people I never thought I would and distanced myself from others.

I have heard if you are not hurting, you are not growing, and man, have I grown and still growing and learning.

Lately I have been trying to get back into the things I loved and ignorned because honestly, all I wanted to focus on was how upset I was and why me?? Despite knowing that this was unhealthy, I couldn't stop. I went to therapy, talked to family and friends and read tons of articles on how to get out of this "funk", nothing helped, sometimes it seemed like the more I talked about it the worse I felt.

I knew I had to get my passion and fire back for life that I once had. So little by little I am trying. I am slowely getting back to exercising again, shopping and putting on a full face of make up like I love to do. Friday night, we went to the Shaq All Star Comedy Jam, comedy show in NYC and I knew that would be the perfect day to do a full face, take pics, and share with you ladies.  I was excited for once and it felt great. I just hope I can keep it up.

NYX to MAC Dupe Series: NYX Atlantic VS MAC Freshwater

This match is talked about A LOT. I alway hear about how NYX Atlantic is a dupe to MAC Freshwater. We will soon see how true this is!

NYX Atlantic VS MAC Freshwater

NYX Atlantic VS MAC Freshwater

Photobucket

NO, NO, NO! NOT a DUPE! I don't need to explain why, you can so SEE it! I do like NYX Atlanti better on my warmer skin tone than MAC Freshwater. BOTH are amazing blues, just NOT the same.

AM I RIGHT on THIS ONE LADIES? Thoughts?

SMASHBOX Photo Op Mega Palette Swatches and Review

I got this palette from my dad and stepmother for Christmas. I absolutely love it and perfect for everyday use, travel or just as a carry along, if you are like me and can not go any where with out touch up makeup, due to the "just in case anything happens factor"

This pallet is only available on QVC  here and retails for $93, thankful it was a gift for me, but I believe it is well worth price, considering the quality and amount and variety of makeup you receive in the palette.

The palette includes:

56 photo op eyeshadows
4 brow tech powders
8 cream eyeliners
2 blushes
3 soft lights
 4 lip glosses

DAMN! that's a lot in one palette!!

This is palette closed:

Opened, it has a plastic protective cover on the products, with the individual name of each one

This is what it looks like without the plastic protective covering

Here are the swatches and my thoughts on whats inside:

Top row: Vanilla, Flirt, Linen, Frost, Ambient, Haze, Golden Orchard
Bottom row: Frambois. Serpent, Dusk, Chestnut, Aubergine, Naked, Nector

Top row: Mist, Alabaster, Crisp, Cinnamon Toast, Rose, Sky, Doe
Bottom row: Roast, Obsidian, Truffle, Bliss, Putty

Top row: Vanilla, Vapor, Champagine, Opal, Sable, Amathyst, Flamingo
Bottom row: Granite, Sumatra, Nocturnal, Java, Blackout, Oyster, Parafait, Butter, Sand

Top row: Zoom, Cabernet, Azure, Vapor, Royal, Ash
Bottom row: Peacock, Thunder, Minx, Fizz, Pebble, Sienna

REVIEW on EYESHADOWS:  All these swatches were takes on bare skin with no primer, The color selection in this palette is really great and I like the variety of darks, lights, shimmers and mattes. The shimmers and dark colors have really great color payoff and the mattes come off a bit chalky without the primer. When I use my trusty UDPP in eden, every single color in this palette pop and the mattes look amazing.

Cream Eyeliners: Ivy, Gilt, Picasso, Lava, Midnight Purple, Image, Midnight brown Cavier

REVIEW: These are really great as an eyeliner, but as a base they crease. I would recommend ONLY putting this on lid if you going to use these as a base and do not go pass the crease at all. Even with a premier they crease.

Brow Tech Powders: Blonde, Taupe, Auburn, Brunette

REVIEW: No complaints here. Great color selection and the Brunette matches my eyebrows great and there is a brow wax included to set the powder and keep your eyebrows in tact.

BLUSH: Posy Pink, Warm Apricot

REVIEW: LOVE LOVE LOVE these two blushes. The texture, color, and color payoff is amazing.

SOFT LIGHTS: Lens, Prism, Shimmer

REVIEW: These are highlighter and I love them also. The color select and texture is amazing.

LIPGLOSSES: Buff, Bitten, Guava, Mulberry

REVIEW: These are ok, they are very sheer and not very long wearing at all.

OVERALL: AMAZING palette! I love the functionality of it and the variety. However, the mattes and lip glosses are the down fall of the palette. If you enjoy having all your makeup with you at all time and are always being asked to do your friends makeup where ever you (like I am!) Then this palette is a goldmine for you!

I hope you enjoyed this review!!
