HIIT-High Intensity Interval Training

I learned on Makeupgeek.com about HIIT, yes we talk about more than just makeup!!
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and it really kicks your butt!!

What is it?:

It is a workout where you walk slow for 1-2 minutes and then sprint at your fullest potential for 30sec-1 min and then cool your body back down for another 2 min and then repeat the cycle.

What's the point?:

The point of HIIT is to shock your body and wake it up. When you sprint for those 30 sec to 1 min you are really pumping up your heart rate and then you cool it down for 2 min. When you do this, you are burning alot more fat vs. just running or walking the tread mill at a steady pace. It is a good and fast way to burn off that fat!!!

Low Resistance vs High Intesity:

Low resistance of aerobic exercise came about is a study that showed low-intensity exercise burns a greater percentage of calories from fat as opposed to carbs; however, when high-intensity exercise is practiced, the research showed the percentage of fuel from carbs is increased, while the amount of fat utilized is greater than or equal to that burned during low-intensity exercise. In research, HIIT has been shown to burn adipose tissue more effectively than low-intensity exercise—up to 50% more efficiently!3 In other words, HIIT speeds up your metabolism and keeps it revved up for some time after your workout. The bottom line is HIIT training burns a greater number of total calories than low-intensity training, and more calories burned equals more fat lost.

I also read that Beyonce does this as well to stay in shape:

Borges reveals the secret to achieving Beyoncé’s incredible physique is training with health in mind, as opposed to looks. “If you think about being as healthy as you possibly can, there is no way you’re not going to look like a million bucks. And that’s what Beyoncé did,” he tells In Touch. Their goal was to make sure she could run around for two hours onstage without feeling winded every night. So before the tour, Beyoncé, 28, did interval training — 45 minutes of alternating between sprinting and running on the treadmill, followed by body-resistance work. Now, Beyoncé does yoga and Pilates for an hour on show days and body-resistance exercises on days when she’s not performing. Borges also tells In Touch that the star eats a sensible 1,600-calorie diet of lean proteins with healthy carbs. “The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. You have to push yourself,” Beyoncé has said. -www.theybf.com

I also did HIIT yesterday and man did it kick my ass. I did 20 min of it on the treadmill, where I walked for 2 min at 3.5mph and then I ran at 6.6mph for 1 min and continued that cylce for 20 min. I also did it on the bike as will. I went from 80mph for 2 min and then jolted up to 120 mph for 1 min. I am not a runner nor a biker, so those speeds were really challenging for me and I really got a great workout from it!
I advise everyone to at least try it, it is such a great workout!

Dinner Last Night-Zucchini!!

Ohh it was very good!! LOL

I thought I would share a recipe with you all for some zucchini. I love vegetables and they are very healthy for you and you should incorporate more of them in your diet especially if you want to loose weight!
Some facts about Zucchini are:
-They contain Vitamin C and lutein, which promotes eye health.
-They have just 25 calories.
- They can very rapidly grow to several feet long.
-When at the store, avoid ones with bruises or broken skin.
-Store in the refrigerator.

Ingredients:
two zucchini (sliced)
1 tbsp of EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
Dash of salt, pepper, and dill
white wine
Directions: Put you stove on low-med and in a saute pan, put your EVVO at the bottom of the pan and place your sliced zucchini in the pan and mix it all together. Let that saute for about 5 minutes or so and then add a dash of salt, pepper and dill (dill is what really makes this dish good!). Saute that for about 5 more minutes or so. Then as a dash of white wine, cook for about another 2-3 minutes and you are finished!!!

We also had turkey burgers with tomatoes, low fat mozzarella and basil on a 100 calorie bun.

First Day

Well..today is my first day blogging..ahhhh...what a feeling.LOL
A little about me would be nice. I started this blog because I need to loose weight and thought it would be a good idea to write down everything I eat and do, here for the world to see..nice of me huh?? My goal is to loose 10lbs and I think I will go on a calorie restrictive diet of 1,400 calories.
I love makeup and everything beaty related, hence my blog title.

I am a commercial credit analyst and RN student by day and a lazy makeup loving chick by night...I hate my current job. It has done nothing but bad things to me. I gained 10lbs being here and sitting on my ass all day. I use to be a full time C.N.A (certified nurses assist) in college, but now I only do it per diam, but it use to help me stay fit because you couldn't eat whenever you wanted to and you were always on your feet, with minimal breaks.

Aside from blogging about my struggle with losing weight, I will also be doing reviews and swatch's of new makeup, jewelry and clothes that I buy. I love to haul and show it off and here seems like the perfect place to do it!! Maybe I will even show off some LOTD's.I will also be doing random rants about random crap..news, life, etc. I tend to be very opinionated about things and sometimes I don't have the proper outlet to express myself, so hopefully this will be a good place. I always appreciate feedback and CC also, so if you happened to like what I have to say and you want follow, please let me know what you think!
