Two Reviews, I think I found a dupe! PLUS a FOTD

Hello Ladies! Happy Monday!
I have two reviews for you. I was wondering around CVS and I came across  the Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Hot Pink Rose. When I saw it I thought it looked really similar to the MAC Dare to Wear, Gimmie that! lipglass, which I always wanted but never got, so sorry ladies, but I personally do not have a comparison swatch for you . However, I took the swatch from Temptalia's Dare to Wear swatches, so you can get an ideas for your self. I think the MAC's Gimmie that! lipglass and Revlon's Hot Pink Rose lipgloss look very similar and I think it is a great dupe for the lipgloss. What do you think?

Revlon's Hot Pink Rose cost $9.00 and I am sure it can be found at any local drugstore. I love the texture of the lipgloss. It glides on smooth and is not sticky at all. The lipgloss has very fine particles of glitter in them which you can see but I cannot feel them on my lips at all. As you can see from the swatch and you will see in my FOTD, the lipgloss is very pigmented and can be worn without lipstick underneath. I really like this lipgloss A LOT!

My next review is the MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20. This pencil is amazing! It is smooth and glides on my waterline line like butter. It is also long lasting. It stayed on my waterline all day and didn't budge one bit!!! I even laughed so hard that I cried yesterday and color was still on my waterline!! This is rare for me, usually I have to reapply the eyeliner to my waterline throughout the day, but not with this one. I swear I even had some left over on my waterline when I woke up this morning. YES! It is that long lasting..lol

Photobucket

I couldn't swatch it for you on my hand because it just blended right in, but here it is on my waterline

and here is the complete FOTD with the Revlon Hot Pink Rose

On my cheeks I am wearing MAC's dollymix blush, NARS albatros as a highlighter, and Benefit Hoola bronzer to contour

NYX to MAC Dupe Series: NYX Iced Mocha VS MAC Satin taupe

I'm back with the NYX to MAC dupe series. I thought it would be  fun to see if the dupes were really that close or just a waste of time and hopefully in the process, I could save you some time and money!

I could not wait to see the results of this one!!

SO...Can you tell the differance??Photobucket

this one might be easy since so many people are satin taupe lovers

So..yeah..Nyx Iced Mocha is on the left and MAC Satin Taupe is on the right.
Satin Taupe is much more pigmented than Iced Mocha and IMO easier to work with. Iced Mocha is VERY soft, almost to soft for me. HOWEVER, they are pretty close in color, so I think it is a pretty close dupe colorwise, not identical, but close enough for me. It you want satin taupe and can not afford the $14.50 ($11 for pro pan) than this color is really a great dupe!

Photobucket

Side by side..IMO they look more identical in the pan than the swatch

Photobucket

NYX swatch on top, MAC on the bottom

SO..what do you think? Is it a good dupe?

My two favorite sites to buy NYX products are at Cherryculture.com and Nonpareilboutique.com

MAC PEACOCKY COLLECTION IS NOW UP!

The MAC Peacocky Collection is up! This collection has 15 gorgeous mega metal eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are bigger (.11 oz) then the regular MAC eyeshadows (.05 oz) and cost more too, at $19.50 vs $14.50 for a regular eyeshadow. However, the pigmentation and color selection is gorgeous. I think these are WELL worth the price just based on the swatches and reviews from Temptalia

The collection also has 12 new lip glosses called Kissables. From what I am hearing there apply more like lipsticks than lip glosses. I am not crazy about these, but I am not a lip gloss/stick kinda gal. These Kissables are $18.50 each

USE CODE PEACOCKY for FREE SHIPPING

I LOVE THIS COLLECTION and totally excited about. I bought five shades from this collection.
The colors I got are:

 Dalliance
 Noir plum
 Paparazz-she
 Prance

Unflappable

One RANT-Ilamasqua Metal Palette one RAVE-Stila Color Wheel

RANT

I got a GC to Sephoria for Christmas and I wanted to do a really silver metalic look for New Year's Eve, So I pick up the Illamasqua Metal Palette for $42. The colors are gorgeous, but they creased on me with 20 min of wearing it  (and yes I was wearing UDPP)

The palette:

Photobucket

Here is the look I did, this pic was taken about 20 min after doing my makeup

Photobucket

See the creasing already..after that I youtubed how I could fix it and one girl suggested I set it with translucent powder, so I set it with my MUFE HD powder and went to my dinner. The dinner was about three hours and when I came home, my eyeshadow was completely faded and pretty much none existent. I forgot to take a pic off it because I was so aggravated about the fact that a $42 palette would still crease and fade even after setting powder and primer, that I just washed it all off as soon as I got home

RAVE

So it was hard, but I returned the metal palette. I really wanted to love it, but I could not keep a $42 palette that creased on me. I ended up exchanging it for the Stila Color Wheel for $25!! Which was an amazing deal! You get 36 colors and each color is beautiful, vibrant and pigmented. I love the sleekness of the palette and the design. I like how it the colors go from lighter to darker, it is like it automatically sets up a look for you if you don't know what to wear that day.
It also comes with a bonus book of 15 different looks that you can put together with the palette! I love that and cannot wait to try them!

Here's the palette

AND it is still available at Sephoria for $25, hurry up and buy it already..LOL

I feel FREE and I challenge you to do the same

Happy New Year Everyone!! 2010 was just not my year and I hope 2011 has some better things in store for me.
Yesterday I went to the gym for the first time in a while and I decided to be FREE and go without make-up. I know this may sound odd to some of you, but I am self conscious about my skin due to the acne scars on my face, that when I go to the gym I usually apply some foundation and a hint of blush.

This was a big step for me, it felt so good to go outside without makeup AND no one stared at me, made comments or funny faces..LOL Sometimes I think that will happen if I go out without a little makeup because I got made fun of quite a bit as teenager for my acne. It may sound silly after all these years, but in the back of my head, that is what I think.

I challenge you to all do the same thing and post a picture on your blog, with the title: I'm FREE!

I think it will be empowering to see us all up with the confidence to post a picture of ourselves in our naked face.

So to start of 2011 on positive note, I dare you to be free and confident!

Post a picture and be free with me! It is such an amazing feeling and I will continue to wear no makeup, every time I go to the gym and maybe even more

What do you think about this challenge? If you decide to do it post a link in the comment section and I will create a section on my blog, with a link to your blog post, so everyone can see our naked faces and it can empower more people to give it a try and be free like us! It will help to remind us that we are all beautiful, with or without makeup
