Cherry Culture Haul

I got this stuff with the 20% off sale at Cherry Culture.com and it was all so worth it! Individual reviews are coming soon. I am planning on doing a before and after face pictures with the primer and foundation so stay tuned for that.
This is what I got:

- NYX HD Foundation in Nude- Orig $15.00, for reference I am MUFE 125 and MAC NC 25 and this color matches me pretty good. It is a tad darker than my MUFE, but it still surprisingly blends in nice with my skin. In my review, I will show comparison pictures so you can see the difference.

- NYX HD Primer- Orig $14.00- This is odd formula, but it really surprised me!

- NYX HD Grinding blush in Georgia Peach-Orig $16.50- Beautiful springy color and it feels wonderful on my skin

- Milani Jewels in Silver, Gold and Multi- Orig $4.99 each- I will show swatches of this in separate post :)

Kim Kardashian at the SAG Awards Look and Makeup Break Down

I saw this makeup break down on Beauty Logic's Blog and I knew I just had to share it with my readers.
Milly from Beauty Logic knows Joyce (Kim's makeup artist) and asked her to share the breakdown of this beautiful look. I really like this look from Kim because it it so natural and simple looking. On top of that, she claims her eye lashes are real here..WOW!! They are insane!
The best part about this look is that most of the makeup used is drug store makeup. I already bought the shadows and plan on recreating this look soon.

STEP 1: KIM’S SKIN
On Kim I apply PerfectSkinLaMer lifting serum, & PerfectSkin eye cream. To condition lips I used Clarks Botanicals Ultra Rich Lip Balm

STEP 2: PRIMER
I used Loreal Paris' Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer for Medium/Deep Skin to prep Kim's skin. *this is a FAB primer because it is an anti-dull skin primer so it gives the skin a bit of an extra glow to start with!

STEP 3: FOUNDATION
For this look I used Loreal Paris' Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup. *This is a new Loreal Product and I loved it. *Remember girls, you don't have to be old to use age-reversing makeup, especially for those of you who apply makeup daily, its good to start the anti-aging young to prevent later on in life . ;)

STEP 4: UNDER EYES
I use Loreal Paris' True Match Concealer.

STEP 5: SET
Finally I set Kim’s entire face with Loreal Paris' Translucide Naturally Lumious Loose Powder. *REMEMBER don’t use too much of this, just a little touch is all you need.

STEP 6: BROWS
I filled them in with Loreal Paris' Brow Stylist Professional in Light Brown. *I love this little guy because  it comes with all 3 in one, a brow brush, tweezers, and the pencil.

STEP 7: KIM’S EYES
We wanted to keep Kim's eyes natural and fresh for this look.  I used Loreal Paris' HiP Studio Secrets Professional Crystal Shadow Duos Eyeshadow in Romantic however I only used the peach tone in the duo, not the silver.  In the eye lid crease I applied Loreal Paris' HiP Studio Secrets Professional Crystal Shadow Duos Eyeshadow in Precious, however I only used the darker shade in the duo pack. I used the lighter color from the Precious duo pack in the inside tear duct area. Along the eyelid, close to the lash line I usedLoreal Paris' HiP Studio Secrets Professional Color Rich Cream Crayon Eyeliner in Perfectionist (Black) to draw on a thick, slightly winged out line. Because Kim already has GORGEOUS to die eyelashes, we wanted to go natural with just a few coats of Loreal Volumous Mascara in Carbon Black to make them pop. Remember, to finish off the eye, I curl her lashes using Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

STEP 8: KIM’S CHEEKS
On the hollow of her cheeks I applied Loreal Paris' Glam Bronze Bronzing Powder in Enchanting SunriseTo give Kim a warm touch of color I appliedTrue Match Naturale Blush in Soft Rose  to the apples of her cheeks.

STEP 9: KIM’S LUMINOUS GLOW
Right above the apples of Kim’s cheeks I applied Naked Pigment by M.A.C.to highlight her cheekbones.

STEP 10: KIM’S LIPS
To define Kim’s gorgeous lip shape I used Loreal Paris' Crayon Petite Automatic Lip Liner in NudesLoreal Paris' Colour Riche Anti-Aging Serum in Peach Parfait is what I used to fill in the lip. I finished her lips withFUSION BEAUTY’s Lip Fusion in clear to give a high gloss coat.

Joyce Bonelli

EDIT: Start of the Palette Project! ADDED MORE PALETTES lol

This week I am officially starting my "Palette Project"! The point of the palette project is to help me focus on the shades and use the shades that I own, instead of buying new ones all the time. I am also hoping it will help me be more creative too. Some of these palettes I haven't even touched or maybe used just once, so this will be really fun and hopefully save me some money in process, as I will hopefully realize that I have all the colors I could ever want

Each week I will pick a different palette to use and take pics of the looks I do and post the pics on my blog the following week to show you all what I came up.

This weeks palette is the UD BOS III. I bought this a while ago and never got to play around with it so this is a good chance for me to really see what I can do with it.

I'm excited to see what I come up with and here is the schedule for "Palette Project"
EDIT: Silly me forgot my CS palettes too..I knew I would forget something!!

Week 1- UD BOS III
Week 2- Sleek Original Palette
Week 3- UD Ammo Palette
Week 4- Sleek Storm Palette

Week 8- Wet n Wild Palettes
Week 9- My MAC Palettes
Week 10-NYX shadows
Week 11- CS Metal Mania

WOW..over 3 months of palettes!! That is my line up for now..I don't think I own any more palettes..lol..BUT this should keep me busy for a while :P

Going on a Makeup Diet, Intro to "The Palette Project", Upcoming posts and other ramblings

Hello everyone,

I just did my last haul :(  I am officially going on a makeup diet. I have bought too much and I need to slim down. I am not going to stop buying makeup all together because when you go on a diet you just cut back and reduce your portion. You shouldn't deny yourself or you will just go crazy and go overboard one day. So I am going to put myself on a $25 a week budget. I feel that is fair enough. It can get me a few drugstore items or a one thing from MAC or Sephoria. I also decided that if that week I don't spend the $25 then I can spend $50 the next week and so on. That way I can save up too.
I also think that in the near future I will doing a blog sale to slim down some more, so keep your eye out for that :)

Next, due to me cutting back on makeup purchases I plan on doing  "The Palette Project". This is something I came up with to force myself to use the existing makeup that I have. I keep neglecting it because everything I buy something new, I just use that till the next new thing comes along. So the rules to the "The Palette Project" are that every week, for one week I will use one palette to create each of my looks everyday and to take a picture of it to share it with you all. I have about 7 or 8 palettes, like the UD BOS 3, UD Deluxe palette, about 3 sleek palettes and more. This project should help me cut back on buying and help me focus on the makeup that I already have.I plan on starting this project next week and will put more info about the specifics in that post.

So with all that said, I have a few more hauls to post with stuff that I have already bought, but after that there will be less haul posts. Here are the hauls that are coming up:
- Cherry culture haul with NYX HD foundation and blush
- Hautelook Rockin Repulic haul
- Drug store haul with some amazing foundation finds
- And my last huge haul is from allcosmeticswholesale.com, I bought a bunch of UD liquid liner, which is my new obsession!

I plan on doing more FOTD's, NOTD's, reviews, make up tips and just plain ol life posts. I also plan on doing some before and after foundation post to really show you haw the foundation affects the look of my skin. My skin is far from perfect, I have large pores, acne scars and I get the occasional pimple, so I think my skin is the perfect skin for this type of review. You want see how the foundation covers your imperfections, so I plan on helping you with that.

My blog is titled "Weighing Down on Beauty" because I wanted my blog to focus on all things that are beautiful and exploring your own beauty INSIDE AND OUT, I don't want to solely focus on makeup all the time, so I will try to mix it up a bit more.
I will doing some posts on re-decoration my bathroom, some book reviews, rants, how I lost a few pounds, and whatever other ideas you all may have.

Lastly, my contest ends today!! Please enter if you have not done so already. I think next time, I will do my give away much different from this one, but we will see how this goes.

I have been TAGGED and was given the VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD

MissbrittanybooBathroom-dancer and Liparazzi have all given me the versatile blogger award.
Thank you so much ladies, I really appreciate all your support.
Please check out all of these ladies blogs. They have so much offer and are really great bloggers.

With the acceptance of the award, you must follow these rules:

1 - Thank and link back to the person that awarded you this award
2 - Share 7 things about yourself
3 - Award/Tag other great bloggers
4 - Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award

SO HERE are 7 things you may not know about me

1.) I have been with my boyfriend for 10 years. We met when I was 16 at my first retail job and have been together since :)

2.) I work with my younger sister at the alzheimer nursing home. she is great with the residents and a really good worker. She is 5 years younger than me (which makes her 21) and a very smart girl. She is in school right now to get her BS in Biology and then she is planning on moving on and becoming a Physian's Assistant. I'm so proud of her!

3.) When I am looking for something that I cannot find, I do the action of the item with my hand till I find it. Like when I can't find my eyeliner  sharpener in my mess, I pretend to sharpen my eyeliner while I am looking for the sharpener. Does that make sense? LOL

4.) I have a severe anxiety disorder. Yeah..I get really nervous and anxious with pretty much anything, especially with test's. Sometime's I do not even know what triggers it. I could be having a perfectly good day, with no issues at all and my body will produce a panic attack. It is awful, but I have been working on it with my DR and I am a little better now.

5.) My nationality is Italian and no I am not ashamed of Jersey Shore..lol Also, sadly, I do not speak the language, my parents never taught me :(

6.)  I believe that I was put on this earth for a purpose that I have not yet figured out, but I really believe that I am here for some reason.

7.) I just started to volunteer at the Connecticut Hospice Hospital. It is one of the first hospice hospitals of it's kind in the US and I am very proud to be there and give back.

January Favorites and then some!!

Here are my favorites from this past month. I cannot believe that January is even OVER..wow..that really flew by!

Photobucket

My first favorite is the Body Shop Banana Conditioner

Photobucket

This stuff make my hair so shiny and it makes it feel so good too. It doesn't make my hair feel to heavy or greasy. I just love it! Oh and the banana smell is not bad either :)

Burt Bee's Almond Milk Hand Creme
Photobucket

This hand creme saved my hands. With the really cold winters here in New England and me constantly washing my hand due to my job, my hand were REALLY dry and cracked and they hurt A LOT too! but this creme saved my hands and healed them. The texture is really smooth and bit oily, but I only wear it at night. The smell is amazing, but I love the smell of almonds.  The creme is also great for your feet too, I put it on my feet at night with a pair of cotton sock and my dry heals are really soft in the morning.

MAC 130 and 188 brushes

Photobucket

Oh how I love these brushes and I am so sad I was without them for so long! The 188 is perfect for contouring and applying blush and the 130 is amazing at applying a highlighter or cream blush. I heard it is good for foundation too, but I have yet to try that yet.

Revlon Lipgloss in Sunset Peach and Hot Pink Rose

Photobucket

I really like these revlon lip glosses and I love these colors. I cannot wait to get some more colors next time they are on sale.

MAC Dalliance

Photobucket

This color is just gorgeous and so unique. It goes great with green and is a really nice highlighter too.

Body Shop Almond Body Butter

Photobucket

Yup! I said I like the smell of almonds :) I love the body shop body butter and this is the newest scent I have tried and I really love it. The body butter is very moisturizing and does not leave you feeling greasy after you apply it. It just melts right into your skin. Other scents that I love are the strawberry and coconut.

AND of course my F21 gold nail polish..I just love this color!

Photobucket

I wanted to give a special shout-out to my favorite hair clip. This hair clip has been with me for years and every time I think I lost, I freak out because I have no idea what to pull my side bang back with and then I always end up finding it.  I use this clip every morning to pin back my hair as I am getting ready, so it is very important to me :) I think I bought it at F21 YEARS AGO and I surprised I still own it, but very happy that I do :P

Photobucket

Also a quick bonus..I have a favorite song to add as well. It is Taylor Swift, Innocent. I believed she preformed this at last years VMA, but I downloaded some of album and I really love it.
I really enjoy this song and it describes how I have been feeling lately and got me through this tough month with some of decisions I have made. I hope you like it.

That's my favorites for January! What do you think of them and what are your favorites?? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

Take care and lets hope for a great Feburary!!
